If you live in Mumbai and love speed, go-karting is one of the most fun things you can do without leaving the city. We went around, tried the tracks, and spoke to people on the ground. These are the three places we think you should check out from the best petrol karts to electric ones. And if you feel like racing without stepping out, you can always race at home with a Logitech G29 and PS5 rental.
1. Ajmera IndiKarting – Wadala
Ajmera is hands down the best in Mumbai. It’s the only place in the city where you get petrol karts that really feel fast. They have three types of karts, including Level 1 (up to ~30 kmph) and Level 2 (claimed 60 kmph, but feels like 45–50). The track is wide, well-maintained, and is also the training ground for Rayo Racing drivers.
We recommend going on weekdays to avoid long waits. Avoid holidays and evenings – it can get crowded and you might have to wait 1–2 hours.
Address: Ajmera IndiKarting, Imax Big Cinemas Compound, Bhakti Park, Wadala East, Mumbai

Pricing: Around ₹500–₹800 per 8–10 min session depending on kart type.
Pro Tip: Wear sports shoes and avoid loose clothing.
2. Hakone Karting – Powai

Hakone is inside the Hiranandani Gardens area in Powai. It’s been around for years and is a favourite for casual outings. The karts here are petrol-powered but mostly Level 1 (~30 kmph), so it’s more about fun than real speed. The track is decent but not as challenging as Ajmera.
Good for groups, birthdays, or if you just want a quick adrenaline fix after dinner in Powai. Weekday evenings are the best time to go as weekends can get busy.
Address: Hakone Entertainment Centre, Hiranandani Gardens, Powai, Mumbai

Pricing: Around ₹400–₹600 for 5–7 laps.
Pro Tip: Combine it with bowling or arcade games at Hakone for a full evening.
3. Smaaash Go-Karting – Lower Parel

Smaaash used to have a two-floor track but now operates only on the ground floor. The karts here are electric, and speed is controlled remotely. That means if someone slower is ahead, your kart might get slowed down too. This makes it less thrilling than petrol karts but still fun if you’re with friends or family.
The track is small but well-designed. Smaaash has the benefit of other attractions – VR games, cricket, and food – so you can make it a longer outing.
Address: Smaaash, Kamala Mills Compound, Lower Parel, Mumbai

Pricing: Around ₹600–₹800 per race.
Pro Tip: Go on weekdays to save money. They often have combo offers for games + karting.

Pro Tip:
If you want the most authentic racing feel, go for Ajmera IndiKarting in Wadala. If you want a relaxed evening in a lively area, Hakone Powai is a great pick. If you’re in the mood for indoor fun and variety, Smaaash Lower Parel works too.
And if the traffic is too much or the weather doesn’t play nice, remember , you can bring the racing home. Just rent a PS5 and Logitech G29 racing wheel from Rentkar and set up your own virtual track day in your living room.

The Rentkar Journal is our official space for unofficial wisdom. Here you’ll find guides, tips, and stories on everything from gaming consoles to cameras — all from the perspective of people who believe owning is overrated. Whether you’re here to learn, laugh, or find your next rental, this is where smart living gets documented.
